We had a-- [applause; cheering] As you all know we were in Chicago this last weekend for our final meeting with the North Central Association, and while it was a very grueling meeting, we never doubted it for a minute, [laughter] but nonetheless today we had confirmation that our candidacy status is confirmed. And I should say while from the start, from the birth of Naropa Institute, while on one hand we never had any doubt what we were doing, or the worth of it, on the other hand, this step of candidacy status for this institute is a first major step in its growth and in its attempt to establish sane education in American society. So at this point I would like to toast the president of Naropa Institute, Trungpa Rinpoche, without whom none of this would have ever occurred. To the Vajracharya, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche.\r\n\r\n\r\nAUDIENCE: Hear, hear! [Applause]\r\n\r\n\r\nWILLIAM MCKEEVER: Also, I'd like to propose a toast to the Vajra Regent Osel Tendzin, who especially during last year's -- during Rinpoche's last year's retreat -- kept an eye and a steady hand on the growth of Naropa, and has been one of its principal teachers. So I would like to toast the Vajra Regent Osel Tendzin.\r\n\r\n\r\nAUDIENCE: Hear, hear! [Laughter; laughs] I must say I felt--\r\n\r\n\r\nAUDIENCE: [INAUDIBLE WORDS] [Vajra Regent laughs; laughter]\r\n\r\n\r\nVAJRA REGENT OSEL TENDZIN: I must say I felt happier than I can remember; I felt like something actually happened. [Laughter; laughs] I think we have a long way to go. We have to continue as we have been, which seems to have prove successful, and also we have to spread the good news that an enlightened society is possible and real sanity is alive and well in Boulder.\r\n\r\n\r\nAUDIENCE: [Cheers; applause]\r\n\r\n\r\nVAJRA REGENT OSEL TENDZIN: Thanks to Naropa Institute and to all of you and especially to the Vajracharya who had the vision to take raw material and mold it into an exquisite and beautiful--\r\n\r\n\r\nCHILD IN AUDIENCE: Daddy, daddy!
