Series: Naropa Institute: Warrior of Shambhala (5 Talks, 1979)

A pioneering seminar in which Chogyam Trungpa presented the central principles of the Shambhala path to the public for the first time. Material from this series provided the basis for part of the classic book SHAMBHALA: THE SACRED PATH OF THE WARRIOR. Topics of the talks include: basic goodness, fearlessness and gentleness, warriorship, doubtlessness, and sacred outlook. The Shambhala warrior conquers the world not through violence or aggression, but through gentleness, courage, and self-knowledge. The warrior discovers the basic goodness of human life and radiates that goodness out into the world for the peace and sanity of others. The Shambhala teachings became a significant area of concentration for the last ten years of Trungpa Rinpoche's life. SHAMBHALA: THE SACRED PATH OF THE WARRIOR has been translated into more than 17 languages, and sold more than one million copies. Sections were also published in the book SMILE AT FEAR: AWAKENING THE TRUE HEART OF BRAVERY. This seminar was co-taught with the Vajra Regent Osel Tendzin (who gave talks 2, 5, 6, and 8).  To listen to the Vajra Regent's talks from this seminar, copy and paste the following link into your browser: https://www.vajraregent.org/?current_event=611
