The Chogyam Trungpa Digital Library at Naropa University

The Chogyam Trungpa Digital Library contains over 300 audio and video recordings with captions and searchable transcripts on Buddhism, meditation, the arts, psychology, contemplative education, given by Chogyam Trungpa between 1970 and 1986. The number of available recordings is growing, and will eventually comprise over 1,500 recordings.

Chögyam Trungpa (1940 - 1987) was one of the most influential spiritual teachers of the 20th century. He is renowned for his contribution to the understanding of Buddhism in North America and the introduction of authentic Buddhist practice throughout the West. His books are considered classics on meditation and the Buddhist path.

The Library’s website  has a catalog of the 1,500+ known recordings of public talks and teachings given in North America. The original analog recordings were carefully digitized and cataloged by the Shambhala Archives. Now the Digital Library team is enhancing the original audio and video with searchable transcripts, captions and contextual metadata.

As these works are completed they will be released to the Library contributing further to the appreciation and  understanding of Chogyam Trungpa’s unique and innovative presentation of Buddhism.
