Shambhala Training is the secular program of meditation and warriorship that eventually was, and continues to be, offered in cities across North and South America, and in Europe. As Trungpa Rinpoche describes, the foundation of these teachings are the principles of basic goodness; The Great Eastern Sun -- connected with the perpetual arising of fresh experience; and the development of confidence, gentleness, and fearlessness in one's everyday life.
As an initial offering, this collection contains the very first public talk ever given for Shambhala Training, titled "Basic Goodness."
Eventually, this collection will contain all 27 recordings of talks that Trungpa Rinpoche gave in the context of Shambhala Training. These mainly consist of 22 talks given for weekend seminars known as Shambhala Training Level V, which are published in the book, Great Eastern Sun. The other 5 are single public talks given in multiple cities between the years 1978 and 1982.
