Series: Naropa Institute: Tibetan Buddhist Path (14 Talks, 1974)

The first formal seminar Chogyam Trungpa gave at Naropa Institute, presenting an overview of the basic geography of the Tibetan Buddhist path. An encompassing range of subjects given within the framework of the entire path, they include: meditation, karma, the three marks of existence, the five skandhas, the Buddha's sutra teachings, the six paramitas, and enlightenment. This seminar situated the introduction of Buddhism in America within both the larger history of Buddhism, and the current climate in America. Notably, the seminar was attended by two thousand curious people from throughout North America, whereas the staff had been expecting only a few hundred. Co-headlining was the popular Hindu teacher Ram Dass, who taught alternate evenings on The Bhagavad Gita. This seminar was published in Chogyam Trungpa's latest book, CYNICISM AND MAGIC,  the first editorial project completed by the Opening the Dharma Treasury Editors Group.
