Series: Naropa Institute: Poetics Events (8 Talks, 1975-1982)

These historic poetry and writing events took place at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics, the creative writing department of Naropa Institute. The school was co-founded by Allen Ginsberg and Anne Waldman in 1974, after they taught at Naropa's first summer session earlier that year. Included are group poetry readings, classes on "dharma poetics", panel discussions, poetics faculty meetings, visits to Allen Ginsberg's poetry classes, and more. Trungpa Rinpoche, Ginsberg, and Waldman are the prominent voices as poets and teachers, along with assistant David Rome, who reads Trungpa Rinpoche's English poems (also a collaborator in the translations). Writers William Burroughs, Gregory Corso, W.S. Merwin, Rick Fields, and Philip Whalen also make appearances.
