This seminar introduces the ten stages, or bhumis, on the path of bodhisattvas, those who dedicate their lives to awakening and freeing sentient beings. The study of the bodhisattva’s path can be viewed as a survey of the mahayana teachings. Making a relationship with ego and recognizing our own confusion is the preparation for entering the bodhisattva path. Progression of the bhumis and their associated paramitas involves constant birth and tremendous expansion; bodhisattva path is a process of unmasking rather than achieving a permanent state of bliss.
