Series: Community Events: Shambhala Day (Losar) (1 talk, 1979, Audio)

Shambhala Day is the name that Trungpa Rinpoche gave to the celebration of the Tibetan New Year (Losar) in his community. The tradition of the community gathering for an address by Trungpa Rinpoche on this day was started in the year 1978, and continued until 1986. Most of these gatherings were in Boulder, Colorado, but the 1983 and 1984 addresses were delivered from Bedford Springs, Pennsylvania during the seminaries there. Intrepid audio tech staff in a pre-Zoom era heroically linked over a hundred centers via a telephone conference call so that everyone in the worldwide community could hear the address live every year.
