Series: Public Seminar: Foundations of Mindfulness (6 talks, 1974, RMDC, Audio)

Seminar given to a small group of students presenting Rinpoche’s unique approach to a traditional framework for meditation known as the Four Foundations of Mindfulness. Presents these four – mindfulness of "body," "life force," "effort," and "mind" – as a progressive technique for developing shamatha and undermining the false logic of a sense of self. Concludes with presentations on post-meditation -- awareness in everyday life -- as an entryway into vipashyana (insight meditation) and the bodhisattva path. Basis for chapters 10-15 in the book MINDFULNESS IN ACTION.
